Part II Basic Massage
The aim of this section is:
For students to gain a confident and a co-ordinated 'touch' whilst giving a massage. It is a vital foundation to learning more specific advanced techniques.
The practical part of this section has to be completed before beginning the aromatherapy course.

Part III Aromatherapy
This section is concerned with all aspects of aromatherapy necessary to a professional practitioner

3.Benefits and limitation of aromatherapy
4.Historical background
5. Essential oils: botanical origins, properties, characteristics. Chemical background of aromatic compounds and important factors such as safety, hazards and toxicity.
6.In-depth study of 22 essential oils
a)Therapeutic properties
b)Clinical applicationsc)Psychological implications
7.The sense of smell, olfaction & the relationship with aromatherapy.
8.Methods of extraction, purity and storage.
9. The art of blending.

11. Diagnosis and observation skills.
12. Hygiene and professional
Practical
1. Learning to take a case history and keeping accurate records of treatment.
2. Full body & facial massage sequence.
3. Specific techniques:
a) Deep tissue and energy release-Accupresure Rheumatism & Arthritis technique
b) Body tension release- gentle joint manipulation
c) Tissue fluid release- manual lymphatic massage,Cellulite
d) Stress and relaxation
4. Lymphoedema & Hypertension.
5. Pregnancy treatment and baby massage.
6.Students will have to present 3 case studies of 6 treatments each .
